BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is the Internet’s routing backbone and a must-have skill for ISPs and enterprises with multi-homing. Unlike IGPs, BGP selects best paths using attributes and policy. MPLS switches traffic based on labels and underpins carrier VPNs and modern WAN designs.
